Though I can be found combing the year-round showrooms at Las Vegas Market, twice annually I revel to rally alongside thousands of retailers and designers who converge to showcase their best at the premier events.
Nothing is more exciting than maneuvering the hallways and attending events at the famed Las Vegas World Market Center during what we designers simply refer to as “market.” Staying on top of what’s new, what’s hot, and getting a glimpse of emerging trends is top of mind. That said, Summer 16’s Market was no disappointment.
Outdoors furnishings with family room like indoor appeal.
With an expanded outdoors and leisure section in full swing, it was obvious that home buyers and sellers will continue to enhance their Las Vegas outdoor lifestyle living even further. Teak wood outdoor dining tables fit for a king, funky and fun ceiling suspended loungers, remote controlled fire pits with customized color changing rock beds, mobile cocktail carts and more were a plenty.
I’ve always said that I’d rather be dining, lounging and exercising outside than be indoors – even if that means earmuffs and scarves are in order. For that reason, I feel fortunate to live, design and sell luxury real estate here in Las Vegas. Mild winter temps and picture perfect Spring and Fall climates offer home buyers and sellers the chance to enjoy patio living virtually all year long here in Las Vegas.
Las Vegas homeowners can seize the opportunity to lounge by a cozy fire pit or meandering water feature mid December, without the need to suit up like an Arctic ice fisherman. Humor aside, the outdoor living section at Summer 16’ Market provided an exceptional outline; from functional to over-the-top luxury home furnishings.

New to market was a much anticipated expanded gifts and home décor temporaries section. Located in The Pavilions section (apart from the mainstream, big brand showrooms). I found myself spending endless hours visiting and revisiting this organic, gem of a showcase that included endless antiques, re-purposed specialty finds and hand-made items Everything I personally am attracted to). Aged barn doors, retro typewriters, custom bedding and hand tooled 16th century armoires were just a few things on my hit list. And I found them all!
With many of my interior design clients seeking opportunities to own and showcase one-of-a-kind finds, this year’s Market gave me ample opportunity to score some amazing treasures for their homes! I mean who would ever imagine shopping in Las Vegas for authentic, one-of-a-kind antiques? Best of all, my ability to shop such a massive amount of one-of-a kind finds, in one convenient local venue was fantastic.
Local Las Vegas celebrities rocked the furniture scene at Summer 16′ Market.
Summer 16’ Market felt ever closer to the vest, with celebrity guest appearances by local Las Vegas personalities the Scott Brothers and Donny Osmond.
Las Vegas locals, Drew and Jonathan Scott are hosts to several popular hit shows on HGTV including Property Brothers, Property Brothers at Home, Buying and Selling and Brothers Take New Orleans. (to name a few). These home renovation rock stars provided an exclusive Q&A appearance and held a book-signing event on Tuesday, August 2. Recognizing these top-trending taste-makers at Market was a real treat.
Donny Osmond Home was right at home (literally)…
Sure, this local celebrity heartthrob has been headlining with his sister Marie in Las Vegas since 2008 on stage. BUT, did you know that offstage he works side by side with his wife, Debbie to design an ever-growing personal collection of beautiful home furnishings?
Danny Osmond and his wife Debbie were present at the show where they spoke about the vision and promoted their new line of artwork and indoor and outdoor furniture. The Osmond’s larger, more expensive furnishings are designed with neutral color palettes, while their fun and casual accessories follow mainstream trends with popular Pantone colors. Currently, Donny Osmond Home can be purchased throughout the country at numerous retail showrooms. However, one of the first retail stores to open a DOH Gallery (aka: Donny Osmond Gallery) was local Las Vegas furniture retailer, Walker Furniture.

Though I will be certainly be recovering from a serious set of shin splints for several days upon close of show, Summer 16’ Las Vegas Market left me and my current home design clients dazzled and oh so fulfilled.
